Opposition Leader Yvonne Jones will be meeting with
various groups, municipal councils, unions and concerned citizens in
central Newfoundland from Tuesday, February 17th to Thursday,
February 19th.
“There are many concerns in central Newfoundland
related to the mill closure, health care shortages and infrastructure
needs,” said Ms. Jones. “I am looking forward to meeting with groups
and individuals in this region of our province to hear their issues
first-hand. It is expected that the House of Assembly will be opening in a
few weeks and this will be an opportunity for people to educate me on
local issues that need to be brought forward to the provincial
legislature. This type of dialogue is important to ensure we are able to
effectively hold government accountable for their actions, or lack
thereof, on important issues directly affecting people in various regions
of our province.”
